Missions: Local UK

ICC is proud of the projects it supports both financially and practically in the local area and throughout the United Kingdom. Projects include:

Locally

Leatherhead Hostel: Members of the ICC congregation prepare and deliver meals for the residents of this short-term hostel for the local homeless.

Churches Together: The ICC congregation works with other local churches to unite as one body of believers.  Different activities occur at several times of the year.  More information is available in the ICC newsletter or on the What's Happening page.

Churchfield House:  Churchfield House comprises 103 apartments for the elderly, none of whom have private means and have to make do with state benefits.  It is the largest set of accommodations in our local borough of Elmbridge.  ICC started an outreach group in the main lounge every Thursday afternoon for an hour.  About 8 ICC ladies join residents for a chat, some fun in the form of quizzes, singing of songs and other entertainments.  We also pray for healing and have seen some amazing answers to prayer. We have a bible reading each week to share with the residents.

The benefit of this outreach to the residents just cannot be overemphasised. For many of them this is the only meaningful contact they have with the outside world. Since starting earlier this year, numbers attending have grown to about 30.

Besom:    Launched in March 2006, The Besom in Runnymede aims to serve members and groups from churches in the area. There are many who are vulnerable, and in need through situations such as isolation, poverty, ill health, homelessness and domestic violence.

The Besom helps Christians to make a difference.  This can be through practical projects such as gardening, decorating, cleaning or through giving good quality items such as, furniture, white goods, clothes, kitchen equipment, groceries, and other household items.  Our van goes out on Tuesday and Thursday's to collect and deliver such items.

Groups of people (home groups, ladies/men's groups, friends) get involved in decorating, cleaning and gardening for those in need.  Recipients include the elderly, disabled or those returning home from hospital, single parent families, those escaping domestic violence, or other vulnerable individuals.  Not only are homes or gardens transformed when a group gives a day, but there is a tangible difference to the quality of lives for all of those involved (both givers and recipients)!  More information is available at their homepage.

World Day of Prayer: ICC joins in the one day of the year when the Christian women of the world unite in prayer, fellowship and worship.
