ICC supports overseas ministries and missionaries.  We also arrange trips to these locations to provide practical help.

Promised Hope - Child Sponsorship

In Romania

Sami Mitra started the Children of the Promise to help the gypsy children in Romania.  There are 1.5 million gypsies in Romania, most of whom are treated as outcasts.  In turn, their children are often neglected and left to fend for themselves through prostitution, aggressive begging, stealing.  Sami's Day Centre in Oradea cares for about 150 children and breaks the cycle of oppression and neglect through feeding, teaching and clothing these young gypsies children.  He has also established a Women's Centre to house and help young gypsy women who would have no other means of support.   He helps them integrate into society and learn of Christ's love for them. 

In Russia

The Comfort Foundation was established to provide material and spiritual support to Russian children in orphanages, hospitals and children’s homes.  Their goal is to touch the lives of children and, if possible, their educators, counsellors and parents through material help and Biblically-centred teaching.  They currently focus on five orphanages and a Down’s syndrome center in Vologda, as well as Light of Hope Children's Center in Cherepovets.  They work to provide some basic needs through funds donated by organisations, churches and individuals.  Russian volunteers teach weekly Bible clubs for children, adult Bible studies and seminars for educators and counsellors.
