An Autumn Season of Change

God is in the business of changing lives.  Regardless of whether you just moved to England or have lived here all your life we believe that God is changing you - and that's a good thing!  2 Corinthians 3:18 says: "And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory" Whether it be physical or emotional healing, we believe that Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today and forever, has the power to change your life in a real and authentic way. And we believe that this can happen during worship here at ICC.

Psalm 28 is a great example of God's ability to change us during worship. Near the beginning of the psalm David cries out to God saying "Hear my cry for mercy, as I lift my hands toward the most Holy Place". He is in desperate need of God's help. Although he might not feel like worshipping, he still raises his hands in surrender and praise through faith. Suddenly, half way through the Psalm his tone changes: "Praise be to the Lord for he has heard my cry for mercy" Something has changed inside him. How else could he go from pleading for help to thanking God for His intervention? Something has happened. God has interceded. Through the power of the Holy Spirit he is a changed man.

God can change our hearts too in worship. If we, by faith, lift our hearts and hands in worship no matter the present circumstances God can change us. He has the power. So let us, like David, cry out for God, in the knowledge that He not only knows our hearts but changes them too.

In Christ,

Matt Blair
