Help with the Office Move

Hello and welcome to this week's update of "Move that office!"

This past weekend we had a few volunteers that made a large difference in what has to be done at the old office in Oxshott.  We filled two skips with 10 years worth of "donations" from leaving families and items that are no longer of interest.  (As we were filling the skip some of our local friends were raiding the piles and turning our trash into their treasure).

This coming week, the office will be fairly quiet as Vicky will be working from home and I am off for three days with my wife.  Upon my return, May 10th, cleaning and painting will begin in earnest at the office. I will need all the help I can get with walls to wash, baseboards to scrub before they can be painted.  More holes to patch, Trevor.... etc.  Painting will begin on Monday 10th May and I am looking for people to put in 2 hour shifts.

Please, if you can, send me an email at my address and not at the office.  I am at  - tell me what days you can come to paint and how long you can stay.

The movers will be at the office on Thursday May 13th and we will not paint that day.

I look forward to hearing from many of you.

Thank you in advance,
George Otten

A New Day in the Life of ICC Worship

The face of worship at ICC has seen some changes and I believe that we are entering a new day. Since Chris' departure, I have had the blessing of leading sunday worship services alongside Lisa Davis, our worship council representative. She has been doing a lot of "behind the scenes" work including getting approval for a new church laptop to run the power point program! We had been struggling with our current laptop for over 3 years and it's a real blessing to suddenly have a new computer!  (Please click here for more or download the file.)

Sponsor the Creche

The creche at ICC is a critical part of our Sunday worship services. Having a supervised place for little ones to play allows parents to worship, fellowship, and grow spiritually each week. We've been able to continue offering a creche at ICC, despite our budget concerns, largely because one of our families has been providing the necessary funding. We now find ourselves at a point, however, where this is no longer possible. We're hoping that you and your family will pray about sponsoring the creche at Rydens and/or Thorpe for one week, one month, or even more. Each location needs £25 per service in order to pay for qualified creche personnel. If you feel lead to help with this important ICC ministry, whatever the amount, please make your cheque out to ICC, write "creche" on the check, and either mail it to the office, or place it in the offering plate during the services. Thank you for partnering with us in sharing God's love with even the youngest members of ICC!

Churches Together

Christian Aid Week  May 10 - 17th - Who Benefits?

Volunteers will call at houses across Britain this week distributing envelopes for Christian Aid.  But what is Christian Aid?

It is an interdenominational Christian Charity which was set up after World War II to provide for refugees across Europe.  Today, Christian Aid has moved its activities beyond Europe and focuses on helping the poorest of the poor in Africa, Asia and Latin America.  They work with local non governmental organisations to fund small scale development projects, to promote fair trade and to assist in the wake of disasters. Two slogans of this organisation are: "We believe in life before death" and "make poverty history."

They were working in Haiti before the earthquake, and you can find an update on their activity there at http://www.christianaid.org.uk/emergencies/current/haiti-earthquake-appeal/haiti-three-months-on.aspx

The Christian Aid envelope provides a Gift Aid form, which will enable the Charity to claim additional funds from the UK Government over and above your donation.  If you are out when the collector comes to call, you can put your envelope in the post. Cheques can be made out to Christian Aid.  More information on Christian Aid is available at www.christianaid.org.uk .

Please can you help?

Do you have any unwanted items that you would be willing to donate to help raise money to preach the Gospel in some of the most unreached areas? I write to you on behalf of Gospel for Asia and our brothers and sisters on the mission field who desperately need funds to help them.

May I bring to your attention that $3 can provide a Bible for a missionary to use to disciple new believers, $4 provides 8 x New Testaments and $1 will provide 200 Gospel Tracts!

Please check out the following website for more information:

http://www.gfa.org/gift/gifts-of-outreach/

Please help us to bridge the gap and reach some of the most unreached people for the glory of God. Thank you.

If you think you may have some items you wish to donate, please contact Trudy on

Some Special Thanks ...

Thank you from Barry, Suzy, Zachary and Micah

Dear ICC Congregation,

Words can barely express the enormous gratitude we feel for you, our church family.  You have blessed us and encouraged us in countless ways the last 2 ½ months.  Thank you for your cards, calls, emails, meals, gifts and help with so many things.  God's love has been very real and tangible to us because we have felt it expressed so well by all of you.  Thank you especially for continuing to pray for Suzy's healing and for God's strength for our family.  We praise God for you every day!

Blessings,
The Gaedderts

Many of the local community Mum's, Dads and all that come through the doors of Batitude would like to personally thank ICC for all their love and support that has been shown to us over the years.   It has gone towards many a good cause and we would not have been able to have done some of the things like the boat trip, our mothers day meal, and many many more things without the support you have shown us.
